News » What's New on CUES Online University

What's New is organized into three groups of announcements:

  • New Courses

    • New Course: "Private Education Loans (PEL): HEOA and Reg. Z"
This new course covers material related to the Federal Reserve Board's amendments to Regulation Z (Truth in Lending) that revise the disclosure requirements for private education loans. It explains the purpose of the new regulations, a self-certification form, descriptions of each of the three loan term disclosures and preferred lender disclosures.
    • Revised Course: "Fair Credit Reporting Act (FACT Act)"
This course has been revised to describe the new disclosure requirements, which go into effect January 1, 2011. Most firms will want to implement the new requirements before that date. The course includes information on the model forms suggested by the Federal Reserve.
    • New Course: "Credit Card Act of 2009"
This new course covers The Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 (Credit Card Act of 2009) which amends the Truth in Lending Act, Reg. Z, by including a number of specific prohibitions with the objective of establishing fair and transparent practices relating to the extension of credit under an open end consumer credit plan.
    • Revised Course: "Privacy of Consumer Financial Information (Reg. P)"
This course has been revised to discuss the new model disclosure requirements as a result of The Regulatory Relief Act of 2006. In late 2009, the Model Privacy Notices were implemented in final regulation.
    • New Course: "Prohibition on Funding of Unlawful Internet Gambling: Regulation GG"
This new course covers Regulation GG (effective December 1, 2009) requiring U.S. financial firms that participate in designated payment systems to establish and implement policies and procedures that are reasonably designed to prevent payments to gambling businesses in connection with unlawful Internet gambling.
    • Revised Course: "Electronic Fund Transfer Act and Regulation E Course"
This course has been revised to reflect the November 2009 amendments to Regulation E. The Federal Reserve Board amended Regulation E, which implements the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, to limit the ability of a financial institution to assess an overdraft fee for paying automated teller machine (ATM) and one-time debit card transactions that overdraw a consumer's account, unless the consumer affirmatively consents, or opts in, to the institution's payment of overdrafts for these transactions.
    • New Course: "Administrator's Guide to An Effective Learning Program"
This course has a number of valuable suggestions for how to develop, manage, and promote online learning within your organization, and it also uses examples from our new system to guide you. There is no exam for this course.
